JSC Embamunaigas is a subsidiary of JSC KazMunayGas Exploration Production and one of Kazakhstan’s established oil and gas production companies. The official history of Embamunaigas dates back to 1922, when the Embaneft Group of Companies was established to develop the Dossor and Makat oil fields.
Over more than a century, the company has accumulated extensive experience in geological exploration, field development and hydrocarbon production. Today, Embamunaigas continues this history through the development of its oil and gas assets, application of modern production technologies and development of its professional workforce.
The development of Embamunaigas is closely connected with the formation and growth of Kazakhstan’s oil industry.
The company’s history began with the development of the Dossor and Makat fields in the early years of the national oil industry. Since then, generations of oil workers, engineers and specialists have contributed to the development of production and the expansion of the company’s capabilities.
This accumulated experience remains an important foundation for the company’s current operations and future development.
Establishment of the Embaneft Group of Companies
The development of the Dossor and Makat fields marked the beginning of the company’s official history.
Embamunaigas continues to develop oil and gas fields, produce hydrocarbons and strengthen its resource and production base.

Conducting geological exploration and studying subsurface resources to support the identification and development of hydrocarbon reserves.

General Director of JSC Embamunaigas
In 1998 graduated from the petrochemical faculty of the Caspian University of Technology and Engineering named after Sh.Yessenov with the qualification “Mining Engineer”.
He holds a Master of Business Administration degree “International Oil and Gas Business” under the programme of additional education of MGIMO in Moscow.
He started his career in 1999 as a control panel operator at Kazakhturkmunai LLP, where he worked as a foreman, oil production engineer, deputy head of the department for government relations and technical analysis, head of the department for production development.
Embamunaigas JSC supplies its oil to both the domestic and international markets.
Oil supplied to the domestic market is delivered through the refineries of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The company's oil exports are transported through two principal pipeline routes: Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), and Uzen–Atyrau–Samara (UAS) pipeline
Gas produced by the company is sold through the national operator of Kazakhstan in the field of gas and gas supply, JSC KazTransGas.
Embamunaigas makes a significant contribution to Kazakhstan through taxes, payments to national and local budgets and investment in regional infrastructure.
From 2012 to 2025, the company allocated more than 1 trillion 902 billion 223 million tenge in taxes and other payments to the National Fund, republican and local budgets.
During the same period, approximately 8 billion 096 million tenge was allocated for the development of regional infrastructure. These contributions reflect the company’s role in supporting the economic and social development of Kazakhstan and the Atyrau region.
